Samsung kembali menunjukkan eksistensinya di ranah smartphone tablet (phablet) dengan melepas Galaxy Note 3. Meski tak mengalami perubahan desain yang cukup signifikan, tapi perusahaan memoles produk flagship-nya agar terlihat lebih premium.

Prosesor Exynos 5420 dan RAM 3GB dipercaya untuk menyokong laju Galaxy Note 3. Okezone sempat mencicipi Galaxy Note 3. Berikut kesan pertama dalam mencicipi perangkat tersebut.

Desain 
Galaxy Note 3 memang tak terlalu istimewa di sektor desain. Perusahaan pun hanya mengutak-atik ukuran bezel dan lebih tipis dari pendahulunya.

Pada bagian belakang, Galaxy Note 3 memang terlihat lebih premium. Aspek finishing tampaknya cukup diperhatikan, terutama bila menilik back cover yang berbalut kulit. Ini cukup meningkatkan kenyamanan saat perangkat berada di genggaman.

Maksimalkan Fungsi Gadget
Galaxy Note 3 dilepas untuk menjawab produktivitas pekerjaan. Perusahaan mengklaim melalui berbagai peningkatan, phablet anyarnya ini mampu menangani pekerjaan yang tidak bisa di-handle smartphone.

S-Pen, yang telah lama hadir di Galaxy Note nampaknya kurang dikomunikasikan sebagai penunjang pekerjaan. Karenanya, perusahaan coba mengomunikasikan kembali beberapa fitur yang bisa dijalankan lewat pena digital tersebut.

Apabila Samsung mengampanyekan Galaxy Note II sebagai wadah menuangkan kreativitas, beda halnya dengan Galaxy Note 3. Adapun, Samsung memiliki concern tersendiri pada Galaxy Note 3, di antaranya Action Memo, Scrapbook, S Finder, S Note, Direct Pen Input, Pen Window, Hard Key, dan Multi Window.

Action Memo misalnya, memungkinkan pengguna menulis tangan pada note. Menariknya fungsi ini bisa mengeksekusi tulisan tangan ke format teks. Action Memo sangat membantu saat menyimpan nomor telefon, mencari alamat pada peta, dan melihat web.

Performa
Hadir di Indonesia dengan chipset Exynos 5420, yakni prosesor octa-core yang terdiri dari dua quad-core, A15 19GHz dan A7 1.3GHz dengan RAM 3GB. Laju dari phablet ini pun tak perlu disangsikan.

Menggunakan sistem operasi Android 4.3 Jelly Bean dan mengusung layar 5.7 inci Super AMOLED, Galaxy Note 3 cukup memanjakan mata ketika memainkan video-video dengan kualitas Full HD.

Kemudian untuk urusan kamera, Galaxy Note 3 dibekali kamera utama 13 megapiksel yang dilengkapi Smart Stabilization dan flash CRI LED. Tak ketinggalan perangkat juga memiliki kamera sekunder untuk mendukung video call.

Tak Pasti Kapan BBM Kembali ke Android & iOS

JAKARTA - BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) bak primadona yang dinantikan banyak orang di seluruh dunia. Aplikasi populer ini seharusnya telah muncul di Android Google Play dan iOS App Store beberapa hari lalu, namun nyatanya tidak.

Menurut pengamat telekomunikasi, BlackBerry bisa berada dalam masalah besar apabila dalam seminggu kendala pada peluncuran resmi aplikasi chatting BBM ini belum juga kelar. Padahal, publik telah diinformasikan dan pemberitaan mengenai BBM yang meluncur di Android telah disebut rilis pada 21 September 2013.

Terhitung saat ini telah 26 September 2013, yakni selang lima hari setelah jadwal resmi yang ditetapkan BlackBerry. Akan tetapi, tanda-tanda kapan BBM bakal nongol resmi di platform toko aplikasi Android dan iOS belum juga tampak.

Hanya saja, BlackBerry dalam website-nya id.blackberry.com, mengungkap bahwa pengguna bisa diberi notifikasi apabila BBM telah muncul resmi di Android dan iOS. Pengunjung website diperkenankan menuliskan email untuk notifikasi, serta membagi informasi dengan teman melalui Facebook, Twitter serta LinkedIn.

Sebelumnya juga diberitakan, aplikasi BBM telah bocor untuk platform Android, yang mengakibatkan pengguna dapat mengunduh aplikasi tersebut di internet. Antusias yang tinggi dikalangan pengguna, mengakibatkan membludaknya jumlah pengunduh aplikasi tidak resmi tersebut di OS robot hijau.

Sebagian pemakai mengaku bisa ngobrol melalui aplikasi gelap 'BBM for Android' ini dengan teman yang memiliki handset BlackBerry asli. Kabarnya, jumlah pengunduh aplikasi BBM ini mencapai angka sekira 1,1 juta pengunduh dan mengakibatkan server BlackBerry kelebihan beban.

Hal inilah yang membuat perusahaan asal Kanada ini menunda peluncuran resminya di Google Play dan iOS, sampai waktu yang belum dapat ditentukan. Kalangan pengamat mengaku pesimis terhadap fitur BBM multiplatform ini.

"Kondisi ini sangat mengkhawatirkan. Saya pesimis dengan ini. Kita lihat saja, kalau dalam waktu seminggu masalah belum juga selesai, ini jadi masalah besar," kata Pengamat Telekomunikasi, Teguh Prasetya.

Jadi, kapan meluncurnya aplikasi chatting terpopuler dari BlackBerry ini masih menjadi tanda tanya. Teguh juga mengungkap, apabila sampai berlarut-larut aplikasi ini molor nongol secara resmi, maka akan berdampak terhadap penurunan minat BBM multiplatform.

"Jika pengguna yang lama menanti kembali dibuat menunggu, Teguh berpendapat, mereka akan kehilangan minat dan antusias terhadap BBM multiplatform," pungkas Teguh. (ahl)

Bisa Apa Saja BBM di Android dan iPhone?

KOMPAS.com — Setelah resmi diumumkan pagi ini, kemunculan aplikasi pesan instan populer BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) di Android dan iOS tinggal menunggu hitungan hari.
Mulai Sabtu 21 September (Google Play) dan Minggu 22 September (App Store) nanti, pengguna Android serta iPhone sudah bisa menikmati aplikasi BBM di perangkat masing-masing tanpa perlu membeli ponsel BlackBerry.

Kendati populer, BBM kini tak sendiri. Para penyedia layanan serupa, seperti WhatsApp, Line, WeChat, dan kawan-lawan telah turut meramaikan jagat aplikasi pesan instan.

Nah, apa saja fitur andalan yang ditawarkan BBM untuk menarik pengguna di tengah persaingan panas aplikasi-aplikasi chatting tersebut? Berikut ini daftarnya sebagaimana dikutip dari blog resmi BlackBerry.

1. "Chatting" ala BBM

Pengguna BlackBerry tentu akrab dengan huruf kecil "D" dan "R" di BBM yang menunjukkan status pesan apabila telah terkirim dan dibaca.

BBM juga menunjukkan apabila lawan bicara sedang mengetik pesan balasan. Fitur khas yang satu ini turut diboyong ke BBM di Android dan iOS.

2. Kemampuan berbagi foto dan "voice notes"

Kemampuan pengiriman lampiran file (attachment) berupa gambar atau file jenis lain adalah salah satu fitur wajib untuk aplikasi chatting masa kini. BBM pun tak alpa menyediakan fungsi tersebut.

3. BBM Group hingga 30 pengguna

BBM Groups di aplikasi BBM untuk Android dan iOS mampu menampung hingga 30 pengguna berbeda. Seperti di ponsel BlackBerry, group chat ini juga mendukung sharing gambar dan jadwal antarsesama anggota, juga penyiaran satu pesan ke banyak pengguna sekaligus di dalam grup alias Broadcast Message.

4. Notifikasi perubahan status

BBM akan memberi tahu pengguna apabila ada pesan baru, perubahan status, ataupun penggantian foto Profile Picture dari teman-teman di dalam daftar kontak.

5. "Personal Identification Number" (PIN)

Inilah salah satu keunikan yang membedakan BBM dari teman-temannya sesama aplikasi pesan instan. PIN dipakai untuk mengidentifikasi pengguna agar nomor telepon atau alamat e-mail tak perlu tersebar sehingga menjaga privasi.


Selain fitur-fitur di atas, BlackBerry juga berencana menambahkan sejumlah fungsi tambahan pada aplikasi BBM di Android dan iPhone pada waktu yang akan datang. Salah satunya adalah BBM Channel yang menjembatani komunitas dengan brand atau selebriti.

Fitur voice call dan video call juga bakal hadir belakangan untuk BBM di Android dan iOS.

BBM di Android, Solusi atau 'Bunuh Diri'?

JAKARTA - Beberapa kalangan menilai BlackBerry (BB) tinggal menunggu 'ajal kehancuran'. Meluncurnya fitur BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) di platform Android nanti disebut-sebut karena BlackBerry harus memiliki 'strategi inovasi' baru untuk mempertahankan perusahaan dari kemerosotan pendapatan atau kebangkrutan.

Website Watchmywallet pada pertengahan Agustus melaporkan, saham BlackBerry dihentikan untuk waktu yang singkat di New York Stock Exchange, karena salah satu staf senior mengundurkan diri. Perusahaan juga disiapkan untuk dijual.

Awal September muncul kabar, BlackBerry akan dilelang pada November mendatang. Beberapa pemain keuangan di Kanada dan Amerika Serikat (AS), seperti Canada Pension Plan Investment Board dan Bain Capital disebut-sebut akan mempertimbangkan tawaran untuk membeli BlackBerry. Juga, raksasa teknologi asal Asia termasuk Lenovo.

Kondisi BlackBerry yang semakin 'jatuh' ini mengakibatkan penurunan pangsa pasar. Hal ini dipertegas berdasarkan data yang dirilis International Data Corporation  (IDC) pada 4 September 2013, BlackBerry hanya memperoleh 2,7 persen, dan diperkiran pada 2017 hanya memperoleh 1,7 persen pangsa pasar secara global.

Lalu, mengapa di Indonesia pengguna handset buatan perusahaan asal Waterloo, Kanada ini masih terus menjamur? Praktisi IT, Michael S. Sunggiardi mengatakan, di Indonesia, selain penggunanya yang paling besar, masyarakat lebih akrab dengan tombol kunci (keypad) bergaya 'QWERTY'.

"BlackBerry teorinya bangkrut, tetapi di Indonesia populer. Pengguna BB di Indonesia paling besar, di luar negeri BB sudah enggak dipakai," tuturnya kepada Okezone melalui percakapan telefon, Selasa (17/9/2013). Meskipun demikian, dengan adanya keypad khas, bentuk handset yang kecil, pengguna bisa memanfaatkannya untuk aktivitas chatting lebih mudah serta dianggap aman (secure), karena jaringannya berpusat di Kanada.

"Sampai hari ini, mereka (pengguna) memiliki teman-teman yang pakai Android, bosnya (bagi pekerja) pakai, semua pakai," katanya. Hal ini menyebabkan BB sulit ditinggalkan, karena mayoritas para relasi atau kerabat masih banyak yang pakai BB.

Michael lebih lanjut mengungkapkan, handset BB dahulu menjadi kebanggaan Research In Motion (RIM) di Kanada. BB mengunggulkan fitur chatting yang secure. Akan tetapi, kini pamor Android semakin meningkat dengan kehadiran aplikasi sejenis seperti We Chat, Line, Kakao Talk dan lain-lain.

Bedanya, menurut Michael, bila aplikasi Chatting yang nongol di sistem operasi (OS) robot hijau tersebut apabila hilang koneksi internet, maka tidak bisa mengirim pesan. Maka, BlackBerry masih memungkinkan untuk terkirim (pending), setelah koneksi internet atau data terhubung kembali.

Perkembangan atau nasib BlackBerry ke depan menurutnya akan sulit diprediksi, sebab teknologi itu dinamis. Adanya OS yang kini tampak lebih populer seperti Android, iOS serta Windows Phone dianggap sebagai platform tandingan yang akan sulit dikejar, kecuali perusahaan melakukan terobosan, salah satunya dengan membuat pengguna Android juga bisa mencicipi fitur BBM.

"Secara teori BB (enggak mungkin ditutup), jumlah pengguna banyak. (Namun), fitur akan mentok. Tidak ada pengembangan. Persis OS Symbian dahulu. Harus ada inovasi, ikuti perkembangan zaman," pungkasnya. (ahl)

14 Oktober, Nexus 5 Hadir dengan Android KitKat

CALIFORNIA - Informasi seputar kehadiran Nexus 5 kian santer. Terkini, smartphone yang dipercaya tengah digarap LG itu akan diumumkan pada 13 Oktober, mendatang, dan hadir dengan cita rasa Android terbaru, 4.4 KitKat.

Berdasarkan sejumlah laporan, Android community mengatakan bahwa suksesor Nexus 4 itu akan diperkenalkan ke publik pada pertengahan Oktober dan hadir dengan beberapa peningkatan antarmuka, termasuk animasi, API, visualisasi galeri, serta widget notifikasi. Demikian dilansir dari Phone Arena, Minggu (15/9/2013).

18 September, BlackBerry Umumkan BBM untuk iOS dan Android?

WATERLOO - BlackBerry dilaporkan telah menyebar undangan untuk sebuah acara yang akan digelar di tiga tempat yang berbeda, Malaysia, Prancis, dan India.
Berdasarkan undangan tersebut, perusahaan yang berbasis di Kanada itu akan menggelar sebuah acara pada 18 September pada pukul 3.00 sore waktu setempat.

Dilansir dari Berryview, Sabtu (14/9/2013), undangan ini mengindikasikan bahwa BlackBerry akan mengumumkan smartphone terbarunya Z30. Atau, perusahan akan mengumumkan ketersediaan BlackBerry Messenger di Android dan iOS.

Berdasarkan desas-desus yang berkembang, BlackBerry Z30 akan mengusung layar 5.0 inci berjenis OLED dengan resolusi 720p.

Demo aplikasi BBM memang disebut-sebut sudah sempat muncul pada iPhone 5 dan Samsung Galaxy S4 selama gelaran Toronto International Film Festival di Kanada beberapa waktu lalu.
Bisa jadi hal ini merupakan pertanda bahwa peluncuran BBM sudah sebentar lagi. Kabarnya selama pagelaran berlangsung, BlackBerry sudah membuka suaranya seputar peluncuran BBM4All.

CALIFORNIA – Pekan lalu, Google telah resmi mengumumkan nama versi Android 4.4 yakni KitKat. Rupanya, pengumuman tersebut mematahkan hati salah satu situs belanja India yang sudah lama berusaha merayu raksasa mesin pencari itu menggunakan nama yang mereka sarankan.

Adalah situs Pricebaba yang terlihat getol menjejalkan berbagai nama manisan lokal Negeri Barata tersebut, salah satunya Kaju Katli. Akan tetapi, Google ternyata terlanjur jatuh hati untuk menggunakan merek dagang cokelat produksi Nestle.

Tak ingin patah semangat begitu saja, disitat dari Softpedia, Kamis (10/9/2013), situs belanja online itu pun masih terus berharap bahwa perusahaan asal Amerika Serikat (AS) untuk mempertimbangkan pilihan nama yang diajukannya untuk versi sistem operasi (OS) robot hijau berikutnya, yaitu Ladoo.

Ladoo merupakan manisan tradisional yang terbuat dari tepung, kapulaga, cengkeh, dan kacang mete. Manisan itu berbentuk bola dan biasanya berwarna kuning.

“Kami mencintai Android dan kami berkomitmen untuk bisa melihat versi Android berikutnya menggunakan nama manisan khas India. Kami meminta Anda untuk mempertimbangkan nama Ladoo,” terang salah satu juru bicara situs tersebut.

WASHINGTON - Samsung telah memperkenalkan beberapa gadget terbarunya seperti Samsung Galaxy Note III, Galaxy Note 10.1, dan jam pintar Galaxy Gear. Tak lama setelah harga Galaxy Note III terungkap, kini giliran patokan harga Galaxy Gear hadir di pasaran.

Dilansir dari Mashable, Minggu (8/9/2013), perusahaan operator jaringan mobile Amerika, T-Mobile, merilis harga satu paket Samsung Galaxy Gear beserta operator T-Mobile dengan harga USD299 atau sekira Rp3,3 juta. Perusahaan operator ini akan memasarkan jam pintar pabrikan Samsung per tanggal 2 Oktober 2013.

Jam pintar Galaxy Gear yang bisa menjalankan aplikasi, memotret, dan melakukan panggilan telepon ini akan dipasarkan pada 149 negara. Galaxy Gear juga akan dijual operator asal AS lain seperti AT&T, Verizon, dan Sprint.

Jam pintar Samsung ini didukung konektivitas Bluetooth 4.0 guna menghubungkan ke smartphone dan tablet Galaxy, yang nantinya juga akan terhubung pada smartphone diluar merek Samsung. Galaxy Gear juga disokong prosesor yang melaju pada clock 800MHz, RAM 512, dan media penyimpanan internal 4GB. Untuk urusan ketahanan baterai, Gear mampu hidup selama 25 jam tanpa henti.

Tak hanya Galaxy Gear, T-Mobile juga akan melepas paketan produk terbaru Samsung Galaxy Note III secara kredit seharga USD199,99 atau sekira Rp2,2 juta dengan tagihan per bulan USD21 atau sekira Rp234 ribu selama 24 bulan. (amr)

BBM untuk Android Bakal Rilis Bersamaan dengan IOS?

WATERLOO – Setelah lama diisukan, akhirnya BlackBerry – dulunya bernama Risearch In Motion (RIM) – mengumumkan tanggal peluncuran fitur layanan olah pesan andalannya yakni BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) untuk Android.

Santer terdengar bahwa BBM untuk sistem operasi (OS) robot hijau itu akan melenggang bersamaan dengan iOS. Namun, dalam sebuah blog dikatakan bahwa hal itu tidak akan terjadi.

Dilansir Product-reviews, Senin (9/9/2013), hal ini disebabkan proses yang dibutuhkan untuk meng-upload BBM ke toko aplikasi Google Play cukup memakan waktu lama, berbeda dengan iOS.

Meski demikian menurut informasi yang didapat, BBM untuk iPhone tidak menyertakan ulasan manual seperti pada versi Android. Tak heran, jika BBM versi iOS sudah disampaikan ke khalayak sejak dua minggu yang lalu di App Store.

Akan tetapi, pihak BlackBerry memastikan bahwa BBM akan diluncurkan di perangkat Android dan iOS dalam waktu yang tidak terlalu jauh. Sehingga, Anda bisa mengakses aplikasi tersebut di kedua platform secara bersamaan.

Sayangnya, hingga kini BlackBerry belum mau membocorkan kapan tanggal pasti peluncuran layanan olah pesannya itu akan melenggang di Android dan iOS.

Wih, Nokia Ejek Samsung dengan Android KitKat!

CALIFORNIA – Setelah Google mengumumkan versi terbaru Android 4.4 yang bernama KitKat, raksasa mesin pencari paham betul bahwa akan memancing persaingan sengit dalam bisnis smartphone. Momen itu juga tidak sedikit digunakan oleh beberapa pembuat perangkat pintar untuk berkampanye produknya.

Pengumuman KitKat pun dimanfaatkan oleh Nokia untuk membalas Samsung yang sering mengejek beberapa smartphone di dunia. Merasa gerah, Nokia yang baru dibeli oleh raksasa piranti lunak Microsoft pun tak tinggal diam.

Terkini, pihaknya sudah mulai melucurkan strategi kampanye pemasaran serangan baliknya kepada smartphone keluaran Korea Selatan itu dengan mengejek beberapa produknya yang membanjiri pasar gadget belakangan ini.

Perusahaan asal Finlandia itu membuat iklan parodi dari Android 4.4 KitKat. Dalam iklan itu, sebagaimana dikutip dari Softpedia, Jumat (6/9/2013), digambarkan bahwa Samsung yang terbelah dua layaknya cokelat bar KitKat.

Sayangnya, banyak pihak yang menilai aksi pembalasan Nokia ini tidak cukup banyak membantu membuka mata para konsumen. Meski rasa amarah Nokia tersalurkan, tetapi kemungkinan besar langkah ini justru memperbesar keraguan para pengguna terhadap produk Microsoft.

Ini Harga Galaxy Note 3

CALIFORNIA – Samsung resmi mengumumkan suksesor Galaxy Note II di hajatan IFA 2013 di Berlin, Jerman. Memboyong spesifikasi yang lebih tinggi dari pendahulunya, lantas berapa harga Galaxy Note 3?

AT&T mulai pembukaan pemesanan Galaxy Note 3 seharga USD299,99 sekira Rp3,3 juta (kurs Rp11.105/USD) dengan dua tahun kontrak.  Apabila membeli tanpa skema kontrak, maka konsumen harus merogoh kocek USD700 sekira Rp7,7 juta.

Rencananya, operator Amerika Serikat (AS) itu rencananya akan mengapalkan suksesor Note II pada 1 Oktober. Seminggu setelahnya perusahaan juga akan mengirimkan Galaxy Gear. Demikian dilansir Gadgetndtv, Jumat (6/9/2013).

Hadir dengan mengusung layar 5.7 inci berjenis Super AMOLED beresolusi Full HD, phablet hadir dengan dua varian chipset, yakni prosesor quad-core 2.3GHz untuk versi LTE, sedangkan versi 3G ditenagai prosesor octa-core 1.9GHz.

Perangkat juga diperkuat RAM 3GB, kamera utama 13 megapiksel dan sekuner 2 megapiksel. Berjalan pada sistem operasi Android 4.3, Samsung membekali phablet-nya ini dengan baterai berkapasitas 3.200mAh. Galaxy Note 3 hadir dalam model kapasitas 32GB dan 64GB, kedua didukung fitur microSD yang bisa diperluas hingga 64GB.

Galaxy Note 3 akan mulai dijual pada 25 September, mendatang, di 149 negara. Sama seperti Galaxy Gear, phablet anyar Samsung ini juga akan tersedia secara global pada Oktober 2013.
