CALIFORNIA - Google telah mengumumkan kehadiran versi terbaru Android 4.4 atau yang dinamakan KitKat. Informasi yang beredar mengungkap, smartphone Nexus 5 merupakan perangkat pertama yang menyambut kehadiran Android 4.4.

Google pertama kali mengungkap KitKat pada awal September, di mana ketika itu informasi yang beredar menyebut Key Lime Pie sebagai versi Android yang akan segera muncul. Dengan versi sistem operasi (OS) terbaru ini, terdapat sejumlah fitur unggulan.

Berikut 11 fitur unggulan yang muncul di Android KitKat, seperti dilansir Itproportal, Selasa (5/11/2013).

1. Multitasking lebih cepat
KitKat bisa mengoptimasi memori dan meningkatkan kemampuan fitur layar sentuh. Google mengatakan bahwa KitKat menyediakan respons lebih cepat dan akurat ketimbang versi sebelumnya.

2. Dukung aksesibilitas lebih baik
Versi Android baru ini mendukung pengalaman aksesibilitas yang lebih baik dengan menambahkan preferensi untuk Closed Captioning. Untuk mengaktifkannya, pengguna bisa mengarahkan ke Pengaturan, Aksesibilitas, kemudian memilih Captions. Caption biasa digunakan sebagai keterangan pada foto.

3. Mudahkan akses file
Google mengatakan bahwa akses storage terbaru bisa membuat pengguna lebih mudah untuk menelusuri dan membuka dokumen, gambar dan file lainnya.
