SEOUL - Smartphone flagship Samsung dilaporkan mengalami masalah di sektor baterai. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan di Jerman, 30 persen pemilik Galaxy S4 mengalami masalah tersebut.

Dilansir Bgr, Kamis (17/10/2013), Samsung menjawab keluhan tersebut dan berjanji akan menukar baterai dari Galaxy S4 yang bermasalah dengan yang baru.

Masalah pada baterai Galaxy S4 sendiri mempengaruhi masa baterai dan menyebabkan baterai menggelembung.

Sementara itu, raksasa elektronik asal Korea Selatan itu dilaporkan tak mampu menjual Galaxy S4 sesuai target. Perusahaan hanya mampu melepas suksesor Galaxy SIII itu sebanyak 20 juta unit dalam dua bulan setelah diluncurkan.

Karenanya, perusahaan dilaporkan tengah menggarap smartphone baru yang akan diperkirakan dilepas pada Januari 2014. (gst)

SEOUL - Menyusul hasil penjualan Galaxy S4 yang kurang memuaskan. Samsung dilaporkan akan melepas sukesor smartphone flagship-nya dalam beberapa bulan ke depan, tepatnya Januari 2014.

Dilansir Cnet, Senin (14/10/2013), situs asal Korea Selatan mengungkap, perusahaan raksasa elektronik itu akan membekali Galaxy S5 dengan kamera bersensor 16 megapiksel (MP). Kamera juga dibekali fitur optical image stabilization (OIS).

Lebih lanjut, laporan juga menyebut bahwa Samsung lebih memilih chipset besutannya, Exynos ketimbang Snapdragon. Ini mengindikasikan bahwa perusahaan akan membekali smatphone anyarnya itu dengan prosesor delapan-core ('true octa-core'), yang hanya tersedia di wilayah tertentu.

Seperti diketahui, Samsung hanya mampu menjual 20 juta unit Galaxy S4 dalam dua bulan pertama setelah diluncurkan.

Ini Bukti BlackBerry Messenger Kalah Telak dari Aplikasi Lain

JAKARTA - Ponsel pintar BlackBerry dengan aplikasi chatting andalannya, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), memang pernah berjaya dan digandrungi oleh jutaan orang. Tapi itu masa lalu, namun saat ini perangkat dan fitur andalan dari BlackBerry mulai ditinggalkan perlahan-lahan.

BlackBerry pernah mengumbar janji sejak pertengahan semester pertama tahun 2013 untuk melepas fitur BBM untuk sistem operasi Android dan iOS. Pengguna terus menunggu-nunggu hingga akhirnya aplikasi tersebut resmi meluncur pada 20 September 2013. Namun tak sampai 24 jam, BBM ditarik kembali dan tak ada kabarnya hingga kini. Pengamat menilai, BlackBerry telah gagal.

Dan setelah sekian lama pengguna dibuat menunggu, diberi harapan dengan peluncuran perdana lalu dibuat menunggu lagi karena kendala, apakah pengguna akan tetap setia menunggu? Bahkan bisa dibilang, BlackBerry Messenger tak lagi diharapkan oleh pengguna ponsel Android dan iOS.

Hal tersebut juga dilontarkan oleh pengamat telekomunikasi di Indonesia, Teguh Prasetya, dalam sambungan telefon kepada Okezone beberapa hari lalu. "Orang kita juga tidak mengharapkan, kok. Ya kan?" begitu ucap Teguh ketika ditanyakan terkait BBM versi Beta yang memberi harapan kepada pengguna Android dan iOS.

Menurutnya, bukti kuat bahwa BlackBerry telah kalah telak oleh aplikasi instant messenger lain seperti WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, bahkan aplikasi chatting khusus smartphone Samsung, ChatOn. Angka bersuara, pengguna BBM hanya 65 juta di seluruh dunia.

Sedangkan WhatsApp, LINe, WeChat, dan ChatOn sudah melebihi angka 100 juta, bahkan di atas 200 dan 300 juta. Jadi, 1,1 juta pengunduh BBM lintas platform yang dilaporkan terjadi pada peluncuran perdana masih jauh dan tak berarti apa-apa dibandingkan aplikasi lain.

Lebih lagi, menurut Teguh, sambutan orang-orang tentang BBM di Android dan iOS ini hanyalah penasaran belaka. Ya, orang-orang cenderung hanya ingin mencicipi aplikasi BBM lintas platform dan belum tentu akan menggunakan seterusnya. Bagaimana tidak, ada aplikasi chatting lebih menarik dengan fitur-fitur inovatif yang tak dimiliki BBM.

Namun kini, setelah hampir satu bulan dari penundaan peluncuran BBM untuk Android dan iOS, BlackBerry masih belum memiliki kabar baik. Euforia orang-orang dalam menyambut BBM lintas platfrom perlahan mulai menghilang. Penasarannya mulai pudar, dan pengharapannya sudah tak ada lagi. BBM Multiplatform Bakal Re-Launching di APEC 2013?

JAKARTA - Aplikasi yang sangat ditunggu-tunggu oleh pengguna smartphone Android dan iOS, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), mengalami penundaan sejak 21 September kemarin. Kabarnya, acara khusus peluncuran BBM multiplatform ini akan digelar di sela-sela pagelaran APEC 2013 di Bali, Oktober mendatang.

BlackBerry Indonesia sempat berbincang dengan humas Kominfo, Gatot S Dewa Broto, dan mengatakan akan menggelar acara peluncuran BBM multiplatform di tengah-tengah gelaran APEC 2013. BlackBerry berbicara mengenai peluncuran aplikasi terbarunya kepada Gatot kendati saat ini tengah mengalami kendala.

"Mereka memberi tahu tentang aplikasi terbarunya (BBM multiplatform). Dan juga mengatakan akan ada acara khusus di sela-sela APEC," kata Gatot seusai konfrensi pers di kantor Kementrian Kominfo, Senin (23/9/2013)

Seperti diketahui sebelumnya, BBM untuk Android dan iPhone resmi meluncur per 21 September 2013. Pada tanggal tersebut pengguna iOS sudah bisa mengunduh aplikasi BBM gratis di Apple App Store. Sedangkan sebagian pengguna Android dilaporkan juga sudah berhasil mengunduh dan menggunakan aplikasi BBM untuk Android meski aplikasi resminya belum diluncurkan.

BlackBerry mengatakan terjadi pengguna yang membludak sejak 8 jam pertama mencapai 1,1 juta unduhan sehingga terjadi masalah. Perusahaan pun menarik aplikasi tersebut dari peredaran di Apple App Store. Sampai saat ini belum diketahui secara jelas kapan BBM akan secara resmi diluncurkan untuk pengguna Android dan iPhone. Smartphone Android 'KitKat' dengan Prosesor Octa Core

TAIWAN - HTC One Tigon disebut-sebut sebagai smartphone pembunuh (killer). Terang saja, spesifikasi yang diusung vendor smartphone asal Taiwan ini cukup gahar, yakni prosesor octa core, desain cantik serta berjalan di OS Android 4.4 (KitKat).

Dilansir Phonesreview, Senin (7/10/2013), HTC One Tigon baru berjalan di OS Android 4.4. Handset ini mengusung spesifikasi high-end dan diklaim hadir dengan desain terbaik.

Handset dengan prosesor octa core ini akan tampil dengan layar SLCD4. Tidak hanya kemampuan prosesor yang tinggi, tetapi juga kapasitas baterai yang besar, yakni 4650 mAh.

Selain itu, tombol untuk meninggikan dan merendahkan suara akan menyediakan operasi kamera yang berbeda. HTC One Tigon akan hadir dengan kamera depan 5MP dengan fitur rekam video UltraHD.
